Who Are We?
We are Team 1700, an all-girls FIRST Robotics Team from Castilleja School in Palo Alto, California. We are a veteran team — the 2016-2017 season is our thirteenth season participating in FIRST Robotics.
Gatorbotics is a student-run, student-led organization that strives to break stereotypes surrounding women in the sciences. By increasing our community’s exposure to robotics and engineering, FIRST Robotics has created a myriad of opportunities for Castilleja students to explore science and technology and develop critical teamwork, leadership, financial, marketing, and presentation skills. To share our knowledge and passion, we mentor underprivileged elementary school children through the Peninsula Bridge Program and middle school students through Castilleja’s FIRST Lego League. We also spread our message on a global scale through our work with the No. 3 Girls’ School in Shanghai China, as we work with them to start the first all-girls’ robotics team in all of China.

Our Mission Statement
Gatorbotics strives to provide all members with a learning experience that develops both a technical background and problem solving skills through the process of building successful robots. We aim to inspire young women, both on our team and throughout the community, to pursue their interests in STEM.
Gatorbotics is funded in part by corporate and personal donations. Funds are used in the current fiscal year; and in some cases used for future equipment expenditures.
We are proud to be an FRC team!
